Armenian posts 3,2% annual inflation rate

3,2% inflation rate was recorded in Armenia's consumer market in December 2012 compared to the same period of 2011.

During the reported period, prices for foodstuff (including alcoholic beverages and cigarettes) increased by 3,1%, non-foods’ prices increased by 5,7%, with 2,1% growth in tariffs for services posted, the head of Price Statistics and International Comparisons Division of RA National Statistical Service Gurgen Martirosyan told Dec 28 press conference.

In December 2012, the consumer prices increased by 2,1 % compared to November, prices for foodstuff (including alcoholic beverages and cigarettes) increased by 3,6%, non-foods’ prices increased by 0,4%, with 0,2% growth in tariffs for services posted,

Consumer prices decreased by 1,5-0.2% in June compared to May in all Armenian cities under study, while the highest index was registered in Yerevan.

Consumer prices increased by 1,2-2,6% in December 2012 compared to November in all Armenian cities under study, while the highest index was registered in Vagharshapat.
