Current leader, the head of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Serzh Sargsyan has the highest ranking among presidential hopefuls, followed by Heritage leader Raffi Hovannisian, the head of Freedom Party Hrant Bagratyan and Union for National Self-Determination leader Paruyr Hayrikyan, Sociometer center director said.
As Aharon Adibekyan told a December 29 news conference in Yerevan, polls show that current leader will gain 72% at presidential polls, while 21% of votes will go to Hovannisian.
“Hovannisian is unlikely to win the race; however, the 2nd place is also a fair result. Hayrikyan has serious chances to gain votes; however, he still has much work to do. Bagratyan can gain the majority of votes of opposition supporters,” the expert concluded.
