Military prosecutor reports 50% drop in violent crimes

A Deputy Prosecutor General reported a 21,1% drop in the rate of crimes committed by servicemen in 2012.

As military prosecutor Gevorg Kostanyan told a January 17 news conference, preventive measures initiated in 2012 promoted a drastic decrease in the number of servicemen-perpetrated crimes.

“A 50% drop in the number of violent crimes with lethal outcome was posted,” the official said, citing risk minimization behind the result.
