Evil Dead has debuted a green band trailer, Digital Spy reported.

The toned-down promo for the Sami Raimi-produced remake follows the descent into horror and death of a group of holiday-makers in a remote cabin.

The friends read from the forbidden Book of the Dead, unleashing an evil spirit that possesses them one by one.

Director Fede Alvarez's film stars Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Jessica Lucas and Elizabeth Blackmore. Bruce Campbell - the star of the original movies - also served as a producer on the movie.

A red band trailer for the film was unveiled earlier in January.

Evil Dead will open at cinemas on April 12, 2013.
