IMF APPRECIATES COOPERATION WITH ARMENIA
Armenian PM Andranik Margaryan met with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Deputy Managing Director Agustin Carstens, reported the Press Service of the Armenian Government. Having noted the efficiency of the cooperation between the Government of Armenia and the IMF, A. Margaryan thanked the Fund for cooperation in the working out and implementation of the Government's Poverty Reduction Strategic Program. He noted the importance of proper implementation of the Poverty Reduction Program for it to have a qualitative impact on the economic growth and standard of living of the population of Armenia. Thereupon the parties discussed issues referring to Armenia's macroeconomics. The Armenian PM noted the macroeconomic situation in Armenia is as planned. Moreover, in his words, under the conditions of registered progress the Government will have to revise the planned indices. In his turn on behalf of the IMF Agustin Carstens expressed readiness to provide professional assistance to Armenia in case of need. He also hailed the Government's initiative of tax and customs reforms. The interlocutors also discussed Armenia's fiscal and tax policy, strengthening the national currency, development of the financial sector.
