Schwarzenegger says he ‘will be back’ for Sochi Olympics

On a trip to Russia, Arnold Schwarzenegger echoed his most famous film role Wednesday, vowing “I’ll be back” for the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics, RIA Novosti reports.

The Terminator star and former California governor has been a keen winter sports fan since his childhood in Austria, and predicted Russia’s first Winter Olympics would wow the world.

“I’ll be back here for the Olympics, for the Winter Olympics,” he said while in Moscow to promote a new film. “I think Russia and Sochi is going to do an extraordinary job. I think the world is going to be blown away by the great host that it will be and by the great events they will have there.”

In recent years, Schwarzenegger has forged links with the Russian government, meeting then-President Dmitry Medvedev in 2010 and attending President Vladimir Putin’s inauguration last year.

Schwarzenegger played a Soviet policeman in 1988’s Red Heat, but most of the film’s scenes set in Russia were actually filmed in Hungary.
