Samsung rolls out Galaxy Tab 2 Garnet Red in U.S.

Samsung has unveiled a 7-inch Garnet Red model of its Galaxy Tab 2 device for the U.S. market, Digital Spy said.

The newly-coloured tablet will launch with the Android Jelly Bean operating system on board, in place of the Ice Cream Sandwich software of the original iteration.

Hardware specs remain unchanged, meaning the slate comes with a 1GHz dual-core processor, 1024 x 600 TFT display and 8GB of internal memory on board.

"This new eye-catching version of the Galaxy Tab 2 offers endless entertainment in the palm of your hand, while the stylish Garnet Red look will set you apart from the crowd," said Samsung senior vice president Michael Abary.

"The Garnet Red version of the Galaxy S3 has been incredibly well-received, so we are happy to make the same brilliant colour available for our Galaxy Tab 2 as well."

The Garnet Red Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 is available in the U.S. from Amazon, Walmart, Office Depot, Tiger Direct, Fry's Electronics and Toys R Us. A UK release is yet to be confirmed.
