Kurdish rebels deny reports on Turkey withdrawal

A Kurdish militant group said on Thursday, Jan 31, media reports about the withdrawal of its fighters from Turkey under a peace process to end a 28-year-old insurgency were "lies" and part of a "psychological war", Reuters reported.

Turkish intelligence officials began peace talks with the jailed leader of the militant Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) late last year and a recent report said its guerrillas would withdraw to northern Iraq by the Kurdish new year on March 21.
