ARMENIA'S STRUGGLE FOR GENOCIDE RECOGNITION SHOULD NOT REPLACE CURRENT TASKS
Armenia should struggle for the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide for honoring the memory of fathers and for the sake of historical justice, Ph. D. Karen Svasian stated during online interview on OpenArmenia.com. "However it would be painful if the struggle for the recognition replaced the current tasks", he noted. When asked about his opinion on the economic, political and cultural development of Armenia, he said. "I do not see this development in imitating western kinds of economy, policy and culture. It engenders caricatures and threatens with national elimination. Unfortunately this direction is prevailing at the moment. We should realize that we can count exclusively on the model meeting the specific Armenian nature." "I think we should preserve our national culture without idolizing it", he noted.
