FC Shakhtar Donetsk head coach Mircea Lucescu said they tried to streamline their training to be able to perform on the same level, ahead of Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund.

“Borussia have won the last two Bundesliga titles in Germany and topped the tough group in the Champions League – so, probably, it is not a question of just the first eleven. Most probably, such a team has second performers for nearly all of the roles, so I don’t think that Borussia will face any problems in this regard. Besides, in such games, attitude and motivation may well be in the foreground, rather than any individual players’ preparation,” the coach said.

“We have always been successful against German clubs. We beat Schalke and Stuttgart, in the final of the UEFA Cup we defeated Werder. Although, looking at their game, Borussia Dortmund are still closer to the Latin American football. The game will show whether we are ready,” FC Shakhtar official website quoted Lucescu as saying.
