Karen Simonyan was arrested during one of many extortion attempts on Zvartnots airport director Juan Pablo Kechijian.

Over the period of January 21 through February 14, Simonyan, under the guise of a member of a terrorist organization, has been addressing threatening letters to Kechijian, trying to extort AMD 80 million.

A criminal case was instigated, National Security Service reported.
