Davit Harutyunyan, the deputy chairman of the election headquarters of incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan, commented on the statement made by Heritage party leader, presidential candidate Raffi Hovannisian.

“We share Mr. Hovannisian’s opinion. For real, the Armenian people have won to choose the way that leads to the future of our country. This election doesn’t have winners and defeated. I am confident that we are writing the victorious history of our homeland,” Harutyunyan said.

“Armenian people have finally become a nation, and incumbent Serzh Sargsyan is the first president in the history of independent Armenia who must recognize the people’s victory,” Hovannisian told a news conference earlier.

As he noted, Sargsyan seems like a person capable of accepting that Armenia deserves a de jure president.

According to Heritage leader, the February 18 elections weren’t free or fair; however he promised a difference situation following his own presidency. “I’ll transfer power to a new generation,” he stressed.
