“Holy Ghost People” thriller trailer hits the web

A trailer for Holy Ghost People has hit the web, Deadline said.

A young woman (Shameless and True Blood’s Emma Greenwell) enlists an ex-Marine (True Blood and Justified’s Brendan McCarthy) to infiltrate an Appalachian snake-handling church in search of her sister in Holy Ghost People, premiering at SXSW.

Director Mitchell Altieri branches out on his own after co-directing several horror features with Phil Flores under the moniker The Butcher Brothers (The Hamiltons, April Fool’s Day, The Violent Kind).

Cameron Richardson (Harper’s Island, Shameless) and Butcher Brothers regular Joe Egender co-star. Altieri, Kevin Artigue, Egender, and Flores wrote the script and produced with Jeffrey Allard. Holy Ghost People debuts March 10 in the Narrative Spotlight section with Paradigm repping sales.
