Hollande, Putin to hold talks in Moscow

French President Francois Hollande will on Thursday, Feb 28, discuss a wide range of issues on the global and regional agenda with the Russian leadership during his visit to Russia, RIA Novosti reported citing the presidential press service.

The Kremlin earlier said that Hollande was expected to arrive in Russia on Feb 27 and stay through Feb 28. The visit takes place on an invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Putin and Hollande will discuss bilateral trade, energy, investment, industrial, high-tech and humanitarian cooperation, as well exchange opinions on urgent international issues, including Russia-EU interaction, the situation in Syria and Mali, the fight against drug trafficking and international terrorism.

Hollande assumed the office of the French president in May 2012. It will be his first visit to Russia as France’s head of state.
