The board of Armenia’s Forest Restoration and Development Fund held a meeting, with the report on 2012 financial activates and 2013 staff list discussed.

254 hectares of forest area was created, with 54 km pipeline and 18 km fence built over the past few years. Forest restoration works covering 31 hectares in Yerevan’s Erebuni administrative district have been listed among priority plans for 2013 spring, with 20 hectares of forest area to be created in Shirak province.

Dwelling on forest rehabilitation programs implemented in Yerevan, deputy mayor Kamo Areyan said the capital possesses 800 hectares of forest area.

The fund plans to carry out forest restoration works covering 200-300 hectares in Yerevan in the years to come.
