The Matrix directors Lana and Andy Wachowski are reportedly being sued by another filmmaker.

Thomas Althouse is said to have filed a $300 million lawsuit against the siblings, claiming they stole his ideas for the 2003 sequels The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions, Digital Spy reported citing TMZ.

Althouse alleges that the sci-fi films used elements from his script The Immortals.

He claims that he sent his screenplay to Warner Bros back in 1993, but did not receive a reply from the studio.

Althouse says that he only watched the Matrix movies for the first time in 2010, and recognised similarities to his film.

His original script allegedly contained plugs in the back of characters' necks, robot-like 'agents' in suits, and characters trapped at a train station.

The lawsuit is against the Wachowskis, Warner Bros and producer Joel Silver for copyright infringement.

The Wachowskis and Warner Bros have yet to respond to the lawsuit's claims.
