Van-Yerevan-Van direct flight has been named “Pilgrim”. The initiative was the product of three-year cooperation between Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (Employers) of Armenia (UIEA), USAID Armenia-Turkey rapprochement project, Armenian-Turkish travel association, RA Ministry of Economy and other countries ready to break the Turkish stereotypes and contribute to the establishment of Armenian-Turkish business ties . Moreover, the resumption of the direct flight will foster the development of the tourism sector, enabling Armenia to once again remind the Turkish authorities of the need to preserve its historical and cultural heritage.

Yerevan hosted the presentation of Van-Yerevan-Van flight on March 14, with heads of tour companies, Armenian deputy minister of economy, representatives of U.S. embassy and EU mission in Armenia present.

The first flight is scheduled on April 3. The flights will be operating on Wednesdays and Sundays by Narekavan Tour Armenian agency jointly with Borajet Turkish company. The ticket for a 40-minute trip is priced at $250, with a 20% discount offered for April flights.

Armenian passengers may get visas at Van airport for USD 15, with passengers arriving in Yerevan to obtain visas at Zvartnots airport for AMD 3000.
