"Despicable Me 2," "Monsters University" unveil new KCA spots

Universal Pictures' "Despicable Me 2" and Disney-Pixar's "Monsters University" debuted a new promo video each during the 2013 Kids' Choice Awards, AceShowbiz said.

The yellow minions of "Despicable Me 2" open the video with a salutation to the nominees. The video follows Gru, the villain-turned-good man, who is "back in the game," trying to save the world from a mysterious evil scoundrel with "cool cars, gadgets and weapons."

Directed by Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud, the film has Steve Carell, Al Pacino, Kristen Wiig, Miranda Cosgrove, Steve Coogan, Russell Brand, Moises Arias, and Elsie Fisher in the voice cast ensemble. It will open wide in U.S. theaters on July 3.

On the other hand, the sneak-peek video for "Monsters University" shows the monster buddies become college students and have party together. Set to Andrew W.K.'s rock anthem "Party Hard", the video also gives a look at how the creatures cut loose between classes.

The Dan Scanlon-directed 3D animation film tells a story about Mike Wazowski who goes to Monsters University to become a scarer. He meets James "Sulley" Sullivan and their competitive spirit gets them both kicked out of the University's elite Scare Program. The film which will hit U.S. theaters on June 21 stars Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, Joel Murray, Dave Foley, Julia Sweeney, Peter Sohn, and Jeff Pidgeon.
