The ACP announced the results of the Tournament of the Year 2012 contest, with Tata Steel Chess, Wijk aan Zee winning the title.

Tata Steel was also named the Best Round Robin event of 2012 followed by Tal Memorial, Moscow and London Chess Classic.

Tradewise Gibraltar Festival was announced the Best Open event of 2012, with Aeroflot Open, Moscow and Reykjavik Open as runners-up.

World Chess Championship Match Anand-Gelfand, Moscow was named the best official event of 2012.
