Coach pleased with Armenian wrestlers’ performance in Tbilisi

Second coach of Armenian’s Greco-Roman team Samvel Gevorgyan commented on Roman Amoyan’s and Arsen Julfalakyan’s failure to participate in Tbilisi-hosted European Championships.

“Arsen was still tired after London Olympics, and Roman was sick. They are training for the World hampionships, aiming to win gold,” Gevorgyan said.

Artur Aleksanyan (96 kg) won gold in the championships, with Artur Shahinyan (84 kg) and Vachik Yeghiazaryan(120 kg) grabbing bronze.

“We are pleased with our athletes’ performance, though there is still a lot to accomplish,” the coach said, adding that the team will soon start trainings for the upcoming international tournaments.
