Hayrikyan dismisses public outrage over $50000 treatment aid

The leader of National Self Determination Union, ex-candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan injured in the February assassination attempt has already arrived in Holland for treatment.

In his Facebook post, Hayrikyan replied to the outrage of some over the government's decision to allocate $50000 for his treatment abroad.

"Where had those pathetic people been when I was suffering from pain, or when my parents had been waiting for 20 years for my return? And now that they learnt that the government is treating me like any government must, they got angry. Let them choke with envy," the ex-candidate said.

Earlier, the government's decision to allocate AMD 20.5 million from the reserve fund to the treatment of Hayrikyan enraged wide masses of the users of social networks, who expressed their outrage over the fact that while a major sum was given for Hayrikyan's treatment, many other people in need of medical aid get no governmental assistance whatsoever.
