The 13th round of London-based Candidates Tournament will be held on March 31, after the participants’ positions in the standings changed dramatically.

The tournament leader Magnus Carlsen of Norway suffered an unexpected defeat by Ukraine’s Vassily Ivanchuk and dropped to the 2nd spot with 7.5 points.

Russia’s Vladimir Kramnik broke through to the 1st place with 8 points, after beating Armenia’s Levon Aronian and leaving his in the 3rd spot with 6.5 points.

In round 13, Aronian will face Alexander Grischuk (Russia).

The other board pairing are: Teimour Radjabov (Azerbaijan) – Magnus Carlsen, Vladimir Kramnik – Boris Gelfand (Israel), Peter Svidler (Russia) – Vassily Ivanchuk.
