Today Armenian Speaker Artur Baghdassaryan met with Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Nikolay Kuptsov and Vice-Chair of the Council of Federation of Russia Aleksandr Toroshin being in Yerevan to participate in events marking the 15th anniversary of the National Assembly of Armenia, reported the Press Service of the NA of Armenia. The parties discussed prospects of development of Armenian-Russian interparliamentary ties. The guests conveyed congratulations on behalf of State Duma Speaker Boris Gryzlov and Council of Federation Chairman Sergey Mironov. The interlocutors considered the 15th anniversary of the National Assembly as an important social and political event in post-soviet states. Speaking of the referendum on the Constitution the parties assessed it as an event of political importance to Armenia. The meeting participants discussed matters of expansion of regional cooperation, as well as opportunities to hold a joint conference in 2006.
