Armenian President Highlighted Development of Interparliamentary Ties with Belgium
Today Armenian President Robert Kocharian met with Belgian Senate President Anne-Marie Lizin, reported the Press Service of the Armenian leader. Mr. Kocharian stated, "as Belgium will preside the OSCE next year, Armenia is interested in Belgium better understanding of our country and the region, especially since the OSCE mandate includes settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict." The Armenian leader also noted the importance of development of interparliamentary ties. Assessing R. Kocharian's latest visit to Brussels as a successful one, the parties noted the European Neighborhood Policy provides for new opportunities of cooperation with the EU and its member states. The interlocutors also discussed the process of Turkey's accession to the EU and Armenian-Turkish relations within the context of EU-Turkey talks.
