U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is expected to visit Turkey this weekend, Hurriyet Daily News reported citing diplomatic sources.

The visit comes as it was revealed that Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama will take place on May 16.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu and his U.S. counterpart discussed the fragile situations in Iraq and Syria during a telephone conversation on March 30. The top U.S. diplomat visited Turkey in late February and met with Davutoğlu, Erdoğan and President Abdullah Gül.
