Afghan mercenaries may appear in CSTO states - Organization chief

The Collective Security Treaty Organization Secretary General doesn’t rule out Afghan mercenaries’ appearance in the CSTO member states.

According to Nikolay Bordyuzha, the economic crisis affects the security of the CSTO member states, further increasing social issues to boost protest movements.

“We believe the situation won’t improve. The mercenary camps, also including the CSTO member states nationals, will be preserved to appear in our countries’ territories to offer a military solution to political issues,” Bordyuzha said.

As he also noted, preservation of the U.S. military facilities in Central Asia will be negatively affecting regional security.
