EU Demands of Turkey to Include Suits against Pamuk and Dink
Next week the EU will present a list of 150 requirements to Turkey. The list will include suits against Turkish writer Orhan Pamuk and ethnic Armenian journalist Hrant Dink. Orhan Pamuk had stated that one million Armenians were killed and will appear before court due to that in December. It should be reminded that EU Commissioner for Enlargement Olli Rehn urged Turkish authorities to withdraw indictments against Pamuk. The Agos newspaper editor-in-chief Hrant Dink was conditionally sentenced to 6 months of imprisonment «for insulting Turkish dignity.»
