New Lebanese PM Beirut’s Armenian university graduate

The new prime minister of Lebanon Tammam Salam is known for his balanced policy in the Sunni community, editor-in-chief of Azdak Beirut-based daily said.

“Salam’s father was also a Lebanese prime minister. They both maintained good relations with the Armenian community. Salam graduated from the Armenian university of Beirut which resulted in close cooperation with Armenians,” Shahan Kandaharian told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, noting the prerequisites for formation of a coalition government.

“We hope the new parliamentary elections will be held in line with the election code, with all the political forces to be represented in the parliament,” Kandaharian said.
