South Caucasian and Baltic States FMs to meet in Ljubljana December 2005
A 3+3 meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the South Caucasian and Baltic states will be held this December in the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana. "Attending the event will be the Foreign Ministers of Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia," Mikhail Saakashvili, the Georgian President, said at the meeting with Valdas Adamkus, the Lithuanian President. The meeting will focus on integration of the South Caucasian states into the EU and the NATO. According to Saakashvili, the idea on holding of the meeting belongs to the Lithuanian President, who supports Georgia in integration into European organizations. Saakashvili underlined that the meeting in Ljubljana would come as decisive one for the South Caucasian countries to determine the direction of the further development of the countries. "I'm sure that irrespective of the problems between Azerbaijan and Armenia, all three countries will be able to adhere to single position on integration into the EU and the NATO," he stated. Valdas Adamkus stressed that Lithuania would do their best to speed up Georgia's joining European organizations, Trend news agency reported.
