Stepashin Extremely Discontent with State of Affairs at Armenian Enterprises Given to Russia
November 15 a joint board of the Russian Accounts Chamber and Armenian Control Chamber convened in the building of the National Assembly of Armenia. Russian Accounts Chamber Chairman Sergey Stepashin represented the Russian party at the meeting. By the end of the joint session he expressed extreme discontent with the mode of use of the potential of the enterprises Armenia has given to Russia within the framework of Property for Debt agreement. His Armenian counterpart Gagik Voskanyan agreed with that assessment. In Stepashin's words, the use of the potential of the five Armenian enterprises is profitable to both Russia and Armenia. Meanwhile, in his words, Mars plant uses only 1% of its capacity. In Mr. Voskanyan's words, during 2 years Russia has done nothing over the enterprises passed to it. "If the situation at the plants does not change by December 15, the Chambers will make respective reports to the Presidents and Government Chiefs of Russia and Armenia," Stepashin warned, reported IA Regnum.
