Armenian Genocide Exhibition Opens in Lithuanian Seimas
After a six-month exposition in the Lithuanian Museum of Genocide Victims, the exhibition marking the 90th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide moved to the Seimas of the Lithuanian Republic October 25, 2005, the State Commission for organizing events marking the 90th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide told PanARMENIAN.Net. Member of the Parliamentary Group for the Relations with the States of the South Caucasus Egidijus Klumbys made a welcome statement during the ceremony. "We know and we appreciate the centuries-old Armenian history and culture and we consider it our duty to be by the side of the Armenian people also to solve that issue," he remarked. Director General of the Lithuanian Genocide and Resistance Center Daila Kuoditen, Deputy Chair of the Seimas Permanent Commission on Security and Defense Algis Kaseta, Lithuanian writer Wahagn Grigoryan, as well as poet and interpreter Marite Kontrimaite. Seimas Deputies and Armenian community representatives were present at the exhibition opening. The exhibition will last a fortnight and then will move to Kaunas, Klaipeda and Shaulay.
