November 19-20 the parliamentary delegation of Armenian lead by Speaker Artur Baghdassaryan was in Kaliningrad, Nairi Armenian Community regional newspaper told PanARMENIAN.Net. The delegation held an official meeting with Kaliningrad Governor Georgi Boos and Armenian community leaders. "Let the first meeting provide for further cooperation," Georgi Boos suggested. Armenia now develops partnership relations with Russia and is very interested in cooperation with Kaliningrad within that context, A. Baghdassaryan stated. Economy, culture, sport, education may be common ground. Sunday the Armenian delegation visited Armenian Sunday school, the building of Armenian spiritual and cultural center and laid flowers to the monument to hero of the Great Patriotic War Nelson Stepanyan. In Mr. Baghdassaryan's words, a business forum will be organized in order to acquaint business elite of both parties with each other. A Kaliningrad delegation is expected to pay a visit to Armenia in 2006. The visit will promote development of cooperation between Kaliningrad and Armenia. At the instance of the Armenian community of the region, direct air flight Kaliningrad-Yerevan-Kaliningrad is planned to be established in 2006.
