Only God Forgives has released a new trailer, Digital Spy said.

Ryan Gosling stars as a British man in hiding from the Metropolitan police in Bangkok. He runs a Thai boxing club as a front for his family's drug-smuggling business.

The drama reunites Gosling with his Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn, and co-stars Kristin Scott Thomas as his mother.

Gosling has described Only God Forgives as "very extreme", and in keeping with the tone of Drive.

Only God Forgives will play in competition at this year's Cannes Film Festival.
