Twitter develops #Flock cuckoo clock

Twitter has developed a branded cuckoo clock dubbed #Flock, Digital Spy said.

The wooden contraption keeps time and is synced with a user's Twitter account, informing them of new followers, retweets and messages.

The microblogging site's UK arm teamed up with design firm Berg to create #Flock, with its partner's cloud technology used to connect the product to its network.

Only a limited number of #Flock units have been created, and they will be given away to a select few who "push creative boundaries" - likely key figures in the tech industry and celebrities.

Earlier this week, Twitter broke into the territory with the launch of #music, a song recommendation service powered by Rdio, Spotify and iTunes.

Twitter is yet to announce whether #Flock will be made available to purchase in the future.
