AMC greenlights Blake Masters sci-fi pilot “Line of Sight”

AMC and "Brotherhood" writer-producer Blake Masters are teaming up for the science-fiction pilot "Line of Sight," TheWrap said.

Masters is writing and will executive-produce the pilot, which centers on Lewis Bent, an investigator for the National Transportation Safety Board who survives a mysterious plane crash. Bent enters a quest to discover the cause of the accident.

Described as "a genre-bending odyssey," the pilot will trace Bent's path as he becomes "a man whose entire sense of self, his own life and the world as he knows it, completely unravels in a whirlwind of obsession and paranoia."

Production on the pilot, AMC's first science-fiction project in an original-series format, is slated for later this year. Fox Television Studios and AMC Studios are co-producing.

Joel Stillerman, the network's executive vice president of original programming, production and digital content, said that "Line of Sight" defies "the traditional boundaries of drama and sci-fi."

Stillerman will oversee the development and production of "Line of Sight," along with AMC senior vice president of scripted programming Susie Fitzgerald and senior vice president of production Jason Fisher.
