MP urges for removal of Armenian-Turkish protocols from NA agenda

A four-day parliamentary session kicked off in Yerevan with Heritage party’s parliamentary group secretary Zaruhi Postanjyan urging speaker Hovik Abrahamyan to remove Armenian-Turkish protocols from the agenda.

“As National Assembly speaker, you possess the leverage to struggle for the removal of the protocols. Protest actions and demonstrations must be held if other leverages cannot be exerted,” the MP said.

Mr. Abrahamyan, in turn, noted himself unauthorized to remove the protocols from the parliament agenda.

“The ratification of the protocols would boost the economy,” he said, adding that the documents are unlinked to the Genocide recognition or political processes.
