Armenian President Robert Kocharian and Russian PM Mikhail Fradkov discussed further Armenian-Russian economic cooperation issues during their meeting December 3. During a news conference M. Fradkov informed that fuel and energy, gas and electricity provision matters were key issues discussed today. Touching upon the matter of increase of tariffs for the natural gas being supplied from Russia to Armenia, Mr. Fradkov remarked the Russian party was transferring to market relations. "I grounded Russia's stand on the issue, hoping for the understanding of the Armenian party. I hope that the necessary documents will be arranged for us to continue work based on the agreements made in December. Today all necessary mechanisms for that are being worked out. The work of interested structures will be diversified in the coming few days, and RAO UES of Russia and Gazprom Company will take part in it from the Russian side," Mikhail Fradkov said.

During the meeting with the President, in the words of the Russian Premier, matters of launching Armenian enterprises, conveyed to Russia to pay off Armenia's state debt were also discussed. "Having confirmed the agreements that were reached during the session of the Armenian-Russian Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation this October we gave commissions to heads of the ministries," he emphasized. Touching upon the further fate of the Hrazdan heat power plant, M. Fradkov remarked that the Russian party is interested in the forming of a joint complex that would involve the 5th energy bloc. RAO UES of Russia and InterRAO will continue working in that respect along with the Armenian colleagues, reported IA Regnum.
