Armenia posts 0,1% deflation in consumer market

3,9% inflation was recorded in Armenia's consumer market in April 2013 compared to the same period of 2012.

During the reported period, prices for foodstuff (including alcoholic beverages and cigarettes) increased by 4,3%; non-foods’ prices increased by 5,2%, with 2,4% growth in tariffs for services posted.

0,1% deflation was recorded in Armenia's consumer market in April 2013 as compared with March, which is basically conditioned by 0,4% and 0,5% growth in prices for foodstuff (including alcoholic beverages and cigarettes) and non-foods respectively. 0,2% growth was also observed in tariffs for services during the reporting period.

Consumer prices decreased by 1-0,3% in April 2013 compared to March in 5 Armenian cities under study, while the highest index was registered in Dilijan. Meanwhile, the prices remained unchanged in Yerevan.
