Colin Firth in talks to star in Woody Allen's new movie

Colin Firth is in talks to join Woody Allen's new movie.

As Digital Spy revealed citing Deadline, the King's Speech actor is wanted as the male lead to star opposite Emma Stone, whose involvement in the project was reported last week.

The Midnight in Paris director is apparently planning to film in the South of France and will write, produce and direct the picture.

Firth is also attached to star in Matthew Vaughn's The Secret Service as a British spy who transforms his young nephew Gary into a lethal secret agent.

He recently warned fans that there "might be a bit of a long wait" for a third film in the Bridget Jones's Diary series.

"I wouldn't say that it's completely dead in the water, but the way it's going you might be seeing Bridget Jones's granddaughter's story being told by the time we get there," he quipped.
