At its global press conference in New York City on Friday, May 3, Acer unveiled its new Aspire line of convertible tablets, with attachable keyboards, Digital Trends reported.

The head of the class is the Aspire R7, but just behind it is a smaller, more affordable model called the Aspire P3, touted as the world’s first Ultrabook convertible. The device runs on Windows 8, and can be used as a traditional tablet, or the user can angle its screen forward to make it feel more like a laptop.

The base model (aside from the keyboard) will weigh a scant 2.1 pounds, and ship with a Core i3 (upgradeable to an i5) processor, 4GB of RAM and a 60GB SSD, for a suggested price of $800. However, the 11.6-inch screen won’t be a full HD panel.

Acer has yet to announce an official release date for the Aspire P3, but the Aspire R7 is confirmed for May 17.
