“In the Shadow” Foreign Oscar entry to close Czech That Film Fest

The second annual Czech That Film Fest opens at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 10 at the Billy Wilder Theater in Los Angeles, where director Zdeněk Jirasky will do a Q&A after the screening of Flower Buds, which won four Czech Lion awards from the Czech Academy, the Chicago Film Festival's Silver Hugo and the Flash Forward Award at Pusan in 2012, The Hollywood Reporter said.

David Ondricek's In the Shadow, which won nine Lions and the Director to Watch Award at Palm Springs Film Festival and was the Czech Foreign Oscar entry, will close the festival June 3.

Czech That is presented by the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Los Angeles and UCLA Film & Television Archive and sponsored by Staropramen. The festival also travels to Salt Lake, Denver, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Portland, Seattle, Phoenix, and Washington, D.C..
