Armenian Who Crossed Azerbaijani Border Mentally Sick
The investigation on the case off illegal crossing of the Azeri border by 65-year-old Armenian citizen Albert Abrahamyan is over. He was diagnosed with schizophrenia and put in a mental hospital. Abrahamyan was detained in Gusarkski region of Azerbaijan on September 20. At that time the Azerbaijani Ministry of Interior informed that the detained is mentally ill, however it was decided to carry out an investigation.
It was cleared up that before the Nagorno Karabakh conflict Abrahamyan used to live in Azerbaijan and underwent medical treatment for schizophrenia. Then the man left for Russia and later settled in Armenia. He crossed the Azeri border because he wanted to return there. After receiving treatment in an Azeri hospital A. Abrahamyan will be conveyed to Armenia with the assistance of the Red Cross.
