Comedian Dan Aykroyd reveals "Ghostbusters 3" details

Updates on "Ghostbusters 3" have been given by the film's leading man Dan Aykroyd when he paid a visit to "Larry King Now" on May 20. Aykroyd, who co-stars alongside Sigourney Weaver, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson in the pic from director Ivan Reitman, talked to Larry King about the project's plot, AceShowbiz said.

"It's based on new research that's being done in particle physics by the young men and women at Columbia University," Aykroyd told King. "There's research being done that I can say that the world or the dimension that we live in, our four planes of existence - length, height, width and time - become threatened by some of the research that's being done. Ghostbusters, new Ghostbusters, have to come and solve the problem."

Asked about the possible return of Bill Murray to reprise his role of Peter Venkman, the Canadian actor and comedian answered, "There will be a hole for him. If Billy wants to walk in the door and be in the movie, we will find a place."

Anna Faris, Eliza Dushku and Annie Potts are also added to the cast ensemble. Reitman is to direct the project from Sony Pictures with a script from Gene Stupnitsky, Lee Eisenberg and Etan Cohen.

The upcoming flick is said to eye a 2014 release.
