Arms Transfer from Georgia to Armenia not Treat to Anyone
Today within his visit to Armenia Russian Defense Minister Sergey Ivanov paid a call to 102nd Russian military base situated in Gyumri. Ivanov checked the personnel fighting readiness and acquainted himself with the state of a number of objects of the base infrastructure. At that he remarked there are no serious «loud» problems at the base. The Minister specifically inspected the engineering storages, where Russian equipment from Russian base in Georgian Akhalkalaki city is placed.
Commander of North Caucasian Military District troops, army general Alexandr Baranov informed the Defense Minister that the 102nd military base has everything necessary for receiving the military equipment and property being transferred from Georgia. At present the loading of the depots situated in Armenia is some 60% and their capacities allow
receiving equipment from Georgia. In his turn, Ivanov remarked Russia «does not threat anyone by transferring materiel from Georgia to the Russian base in Armenia.» In his words, Russian equipment is merely moved from one base to another while available arrangements are observed.
