Yerevan Mayor: public transport price rise not discussed yet

Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan said a statement will be issued following the economists’ survey as to the possible impact of gas price rise on public transportation prices.

“The transportation price rise has not been discussed yet, but calculations are made,” Margaryan said.

Chairman of Public Services Regulatory Commission Robert Nazaryan earlier said the gas price rise will result in 5% hike in public transportation prices. Public Services Regulatory Commission set AMD 156 as the new price for 1 cubic meter of gas. The decision will enter into force on July 7.
