July 5 may also celebrate state symbols day in Armenia

The offer to mark July 5 as both constitution and state symbols day is discussed, dean of Yerevan State University faculty of history said.

“State symbols reflect the national spirit. Celebration of July 5 as state symbols day will change people’s attitude towards statehood,” Edik Minasyan believes.

Though June 15 celebrates state symbols day, it has not been approved by the constitution. The laws “On the Flag of the Republic of Armenia” and “On the State Emblem of the Republic of Armenia” were adopted on June 15, 2006.

The tricolor, emblem and anthem are the state symbols of the Republic of Armenia.
