Armenia and Karabakh Striving for Maximal Integration
Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh are striving for maximal integration, Armenian President Robert Kocharian during the meeting with the Armenian community of Sweden. The Armenian leader reminded that several months ago he said the relations between Armenia and Karabakh may be called "asymmetric confederation." When responding to the questions of the meeting participants, Robert Kocharian stated that Yerevan and Stepanakert do not pursue the policy of settling the territories forming the security belt around Karabakh. In his words, such policy would create "political difficulties" for Armenia. The President underscored that the absence of such policy was proved by the OSCE fact-finding mission that visited the region a year ago, reported Mediamax.
