Newly appointed Iraqi ambassador Ghazi Tahar Khaled handed Thursday, June 20, the copy of his credentials to Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, who wished him every success on the post and expressed hope for further development of friendly ties between the countries.

Minister Nalbandian emphasized that mutual high-level visits helped promotion of the Armenian-Iraqi relations.

The Iraqi envoy, in turn, assured that he will spare no effort to facilitate cooperation with Armenia and noted the role of the Armenian community in the development of his country.

The two men also referred to the current situation in Middle East.
