Casey Affleck has joined the cast of Interstellar, Digital Spy said.

During an interview with Elle, Affleck confirmed that he is "going to work on a Chris Nolan movie in the fall".

Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway will star in the science-fiction drama, which follows "a heroic interstellar voyage to the farthest borders of our scientific understanding".

Jessica Chastain and Michael Caine have also been confirmed for roles.

Nolan has reportedly revised his brother Jonathan Nolan's original screenplay.

Interstellar will be released on November 14, 2014.
