Rail Communication between Armenia and Iran May Be Restored
Both Yerevan and Teheran are interested in construction of Iran-Armenia gas pipeline, Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki stated in the course of a news conference in Armenia. In his opinion, the project underscores the importance of economic cooperation between the two countries. «We highlight energy cooperation and development of communications. We would like for rail communication between our countries to be restored,» the Iranian FM said.

In his turn Armenian FM V. Oskanian remarked that participation of a third party in the building and running of the gas pipeline is not on the agenda yet. In his words, it can be spoken about only after the building of the first branch is over. «Only after that and provided that the parties agree, participation of interested third countries in running the gas pipeline may be the point,» Oskanian said.
